Why Talvik?

Open infrastructure for AI knowledge continuity

Talvik is building open infrastructure that enables AI systems to reuse knowledge, preserve context, and work together across platforms.

MAK4I is Talvik's first protocol. Future protocols and developer tools will also be developed under Talvik.

The Problem

Knowledge doesn't travel with you

As teams adopt more AI tools, the same work gets regenerated again and again.

  • AI tools retain knowledge differently, with no shared standard.

  • Context becomes trapped inside individual platforms.

  • Teams repeatedly regenerate artifacts instead of reusing them.

  • Knowledge continuity is difficult to maintain across tools.

  • Existing workflows rarely encourage reuse before regeneration.

Why Now?

Fragmentation is still the default

AI adoption is accelerating, but knowledge remains fragmented across tools. Teams repeatedly recreate context, decisions, workflows, and artifacts because each platform generates and retains them differently. MAK4I proposes a common protocol for reuse before this fragmentation becomes the default.

Meet MAK4I

Reusable AI Artifacts

MAK4I standardizes reusable AI knowledge. Memory is only one supported artifact type — MAK4I covers far more.

Core Principle

Check Before Create

MAK4I promotes reuse before regeneration — search first, adapt when possible, and create only as a last resort.

  1. 1

    Need something

  2. 2

    Search existing artifacts

  3. 3

    Reuse

  4. 4

    Adapt

  5. 5

Only create when nothing suitable exists
