Talvik, Inc. builds infrastructure around an open interoperability approach rather than another closed AI memory silo — and MAK4I, an open protocol for reusing portable project knowledge, decisions and artifacts across AI systems, is at the center of it.

Open protocol philosophy
MAK4I is developed in the open and MIT licensed, and stays independently implementable. Talvik builds commercial infrastructure on top of it, not a walled garden around it — and the protocol never depends on buying Talvik's services.
What We're Building
Protocol and infrastructure
MAK4I — the open protocol. Public specification on GitHub, plus a hosted reference implementation in Developer Preview.
Talvik infrastructure — managed hosting, enterprise context governance, policy and administration, observability and audit, enterprise integrations, and private and hybrid deployment. This is Talvik's commercial direction; it is in development and not yet generally available.
